Be part of the inaugural Darkest Night event in 2012! Gather your friends and youth group to participate in a night that will raise awareness about homelessness and other issues affecting young people.
Together we have the opportunity to make a difference to young Australians who are affected by homelessness, mental health issues, drug abuse, family breakdown and unemployment.
If you are involved in a youth ministry, Mission Australia is asking you to host a ‘Darkest Night Sleepout’ at your church on Friday 22 June 2012.
By hosting this incredible night as part of your normal youth program, you will support Mission Australia to help young people:
- Understand their strengths and capacity to make positive life decisions;
- Indentify and work towards reaching their goals; and
- Develop solutions, skills and competencies to get them back on track.
Dream as big or as small as you like. Your sleepout doesn't need to be a major event, it can be whatever and wherever you choose.
Start with a simple plan, if that's what you prefer, and organise your event in your church auditorium or wherever your youth group normally meets.
Then register and make sure you get online to let everyone know what you’re doing!
